Peggy Schoenegge (VRHAM!) with Artist Almagul Menlibayeva

How does an artistic vision take shape, and what thoughts lie behind the works on display?
In Meet the Artist, we guide visitors through the exhibition together with the participating artists, offering personal insights into their ideas, working processes, and the stories behind their pieces. It’s an opportunity to ask questions and gain direct access to artistic perspectives.
A format for anyone curious to experience art firsthand—beyond traditional art education formats.

Almagul Menlibayeva’s immersive installation The Map of Nomadizing Reimagining #3 brings together traditional craft techniques with AI-generated hallucinations, forming a living archive of embodied memory and feminist resistance. This postdigital textile work serves as an imagined cartography of Central Asia, created by the artist in collaboration with artificial intelligence and weavers from Kazakhstan. The map highlights sites affected by the dissolution of the Soviet Union—places Menlibayeva has explored throughout her practice. AI-generated videos, flowing across the ground like a river, draw upon documentary footage the artist captured at the locations marked on the map, reflecting on ecological collapse and the fragmentation of identity.
