Liz Stumpf (VRHAM!) with Artist Yaloo
How does an artistic vision take shape, and what thoughts lie behind the works on display?
In Meet the Artist, we guide visitors through the exhibition together with the participating artists, offering personal insights into their ideas, working processes, and the stories behind their pieces. It’s an opportunity to ask questions and gain direct access to artistic perspectives.
A format for anyone curious to experience art firsthand—beyond traditional art education formats.
South Korean artist Yaloo’s Shininho is a holographic installation that highlights links between data banks, piracy, and K-Pop within capitalism. Yaloo’s dynamic digital collages follow the imagined voyage of 86-year-old pirate captain Shin In-ho, inspired by the most successful pirate in history, Zheng Yi Sao (1775–1844). Blending historical facts, science fiction, and personal memories, the work reimagines piracy for the digital age, with Shin In-ho and her crew stealing valuable memories for big data centres, questioning whether data is today’s ultimate treasure.
