The third edition of VRHAM! Virtual Reality & Arts Festival will take place in Hamburg’s Oberhafenquartier from 5 to 13 June 2020. The first international artistic Virtual Reality festival presents a selection of the latest international VR experiences and live performances while also offering a complementary program of discourse panels and educational workshops. With the VRHAM! ACADEMY, VRHAM! establishes a platform for emerging VR talents that is unprecedented in Europe. Application deadline for the VRHAM! ACADEMY and the VRHAM! RESIDENCIES is 12 April 2020.

“Our festival has not only arrived in our city, VRHAM! is also becoming more and more of a brand internationally and is already one of the most important platforms for the new immersive art form. We are very pleased to curate an exciting program for our visitors this year from over 220 submissions from all over the world,” says VRHAM! Festival director Ulrich Schrauth.


International and national artists who would like to develop a VR, AR or XR project, 360° film, multimedia installation or performative format with renowned international mentors and present them in the context of the VRHAM! Opening weekend, are welcome to apply for the VRHAM! RESIDENCIES 2020 until 12 April 2020. Two teams will be selected. The VRHAM! RESIDENCIES take place in cooperation with Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein within the North Sea Interreg project Create Converge.

For the VRHAM! ACADEMY we are looking for students and industry newcomers who would like to take part in the international programme for emerging artists. The young talents will meet with international experts from 4 to 7 June 2020, where they can exchange ideas and look at the latest works of art by internationally established artists. The VRHAM! ACADEMY offers free festival accreditation, exclusive guided tours and networking events. Application deadline is 12 April 2020. The VRHAM! ACADEMY is a unique platform for emerging VR talents unprecedented in Europe.
